Jumeirah Saadiyat Island resort, designed by the Australian studio DBI Design, spans approximately 84,700 m² along the coast of Abu Dhabi: conceived as a contemporary oasis, the complex celebrates the meeting of marine and desert contexts.
DBI adopted an “architecture and landscape as one” approach, blending low volumes and horizontal lines with internal gardens, water channels, and courtyards that evoke traditional Arabic layouts. The façades, in neutral tones and shaded by brise-soleil, provide natural screening and visual continuity with the beach. Inside, the 300 rooms and 10 luxury villas prioritize local materials like light limestone and native palm woods, ensuring diffuse light and panoramic views of the Arabian Gulf through large openings. Each spa villa is conceived as a private retreat with infinity pools and passive cooling systems to respond to the local climate.
The design integrates advanced technologies and bioclimatic strategies to minimize the energy footprint, merging sustainability with discreet luxury. Completing the excellence of the details, the Shui, Le Giare, and Fluid collections by Ceramica Cielo furnish the bathrooms, perfectly integrating their style through the purity of their forms. In summary, the project fuses architecture and landscape to offer an experience immersed in the natural beauty of Saadiyat Island.
