Marcel draws inspiration from the sinuous yet rational forms of the Bauhaus. The design reinterprets the elegance of curved solid wood and Vienna wicker furniture - a hallmark of Thonet's tradition - translating it into a contemporary language.
The collection captures the essence of design history whilst expressing new living trends.
The skilful use of ceramic in its many shades blends with the cabinetmaking craftsmanship of curved ash and the refined wicker weaving. The ceramic washbasin countertop and the sinuous Vienna wicker chest of drawers integrate seamlessly into the solid wood structure. The supporting base creates a continuous line, around which the individual elements seem almost to float in a timeless space.
Inspired by the sinuous yet rational forms of the Bauhaus and by the elegance and essentiality of solid bentwood and Vienna straw furniture, the Marcel washbasin, designed by Andrea Parisio and Giuseppe Pezzano, reinterprets the distinctive stylistic language of the Thonet family in a contemporary way.
